South Coast Raceway continued with round 2 of the 2010/2011 season, the weather forecast during the week kept entrants numbers down.

Starting Friday night, 32 entrants were involved in legal off-street racing, entrants got value for their money getting as much racing as they could handle before the night was over, In the burnout competition afterwards, 1st place was taken out by Ben Phillips, 2nd Daniel Page and 3rd Trevor Newton

On Saturday the ‘Dash for Cash’ event attracted racers from as far away as Tasmania, all trying to get their hands on the big cash prizes for each class, feedback from these racers was positive and look forward to seeing them back again

Marcus Chambers was back testing his Premix King Monaro Top Doorslammer, showcasing what is in store for the club early next year, Marcus came out on his first pass of the day and blew away the track record that has been held for more than 3 years, crossing the line after 4.498secs shutting the car down before the finish. Unfortunately he locked a front brake and blew the tyre marking the end of his day

The record breaking did not end there as Mike Evans from Tasmania with his Supercharged Chevrolet Camaro is now the fastest entrant to cross the line, setting the record at 154mph.

Results for the day starting with the Bikes, Malcolm Luff from Naracoorte took the cash while Jamie Dohnt from Mt. Gambier was the runner up, top qualifier was Tony Frost doing 6.128secs

In the big field of Super Street cars, the final seen local Scott Cleary defend his title from last year’s event and was too good for Thomas Krieger from ??, who also top qualified for the class with 6.927secs
