Do Team Bray have what it takes?

The nine-time championship winning Team Bray feels it will be up against it at Western Australia’s Perth Motorplex on March 3-4’s Westernationals.
Recent form by arch rival and good friends John Zappia, Robin Judd and Peter Kapiris has Team Bray on the back foot slightly as they look to regain position in the ANDRA Pro Series.
Victor Bray said Zappia and Judd are always the danger men in WA as they know the place like the back of their hands and as for Peter Kapiris, he is fast every time he hits any track anywhere.
“The other problem is there are 50 per cent bonus points on offer at the event, which is good if you win but if you lose it drops you back a fair bit,” he said. “That said, we’ve got a lot of data on Kwinana and if the air conditions and track surface are right we could give it a good shake.
“I have run 6.001sec pass at Kwinana and considering the car is about 50kgs overweight we were pretty happy about that. If all the stars line up in WA maybe I could even run a ‘five’.”
Victor’s son Ben Bray said it was time for the Sidchrome team to pull together.
“This is an important points round of the championship, so now is the time for us to really get on our game,” he said. “I think you’ll see a really serious, competitive side of all of the racers this weekend.
“We are both inside the top 10 in the championship but I would like to get a hold of some of those bonus points on offer this weekend and move up a couple of spots.  We are going to make quite a few changes to my car beforehand so I guess it’s time to get ready and go.”
The ANDRA Pro Series Westernationals runs both this Saturday and Sunday. For more information head to www.motorplex.com.au.
