Spreading the drag racing word.
International students studying motor mechanics at the Chisholm Institute were introduced to the Sidchrome Drag Racing Team on the final leg of Team Bray’s nine week road trip.
The Team Bray road show brought the team’s Top Doorslammer race cars and burn out show cars. It was the final phase of the road show that kicked off in Canberra at the start of January. The event also coincided with the release of the new Sidchrome 440 range of professional tools.
Since its appearance at the Summernats Chrome Jubilee in front of a record crowd, the Team Bray Racing road show has fronted crowds in excess of 180,000.
Victor Bray said with Sidchrome a major supporter of the Chisholm Institute it was great to put the team in front of students who would not normally go to a race meeting.
“I love this sport and I would like as many people as possible to see our cars,” he said. “Who knows, now these guys have seen our Doorslammers, they might like us on Facebook, watch a video on the Team Bray YouTube channel and they will want to see more.
“I want to do as much as I can so my sponsors, my team and our sport can continue to prosper.”
Ben Bray said that the visit was different to the appearances the team normally makes.
“Most of these guys had never seen a car with a supercharger poking out of the bonnet. They asked so many questions it wasn’t funny,” he said.
Team Bray will be competing at the ANDRA Pro Series featuring Top Doorslammer, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle and the Rocket Allstars Racing Series on March 24 and 25 at Sydney Dragway.
Qualifying (Saturday) and racing (Sunday) both begin from 10am and tickets cost $35, with two day passes available for just $60.
In the meantime, don’t forget about the latest photo competition on the ANDRA Facebook page. Post a photo from the Sydney ANDRA Pro Series event on the ANDRA Facebook wall over the course of next weekend and you could win some cool merchandise thanks to Team Bray, Sidchrome and ANDRA.
