Jason Hedges has surprised ANDRA Pro Stock fans with the announcement that he will be taking a break from racing next season in his Decoglaze Pontiac.

Hedges has been one of the form runners in Pro Stock this season, finishing third in the 2010/11 series and sixth in this season, which has reached new levels of competitiveness.

That was still away from the goal Hedges had set himself, the managing director of Decoglaze explaining that rained out test sessions hampered them getting their new car up to pace.

“It’s been a tough decision to make but I feel that we have made the right decision,” he said. “When we landed the GXP, we had planned to run four test sessions, which would have meant that we would have around 12 to 14 runs of data on the car. However due to rain we only got to make two runs. It is evident that this hurt our final points standings.

“I would like to thank my sponsors, Jason Debono of J&D Custom Cabinetry and Michael Marino of Marino Stone Australia (MSA) for their support of JHR’s racing efforts. Thanks also must go to Kerry and Aaron of Tremaniac Racing for their support at the track.

“Should all things go to plan then the JHR team will return to Pro Stock for the 2014 ANDRA season.”
