The ANDRA Board will have a new chairman for 2014 with Michael Fotheringham to take over from Liam Waldron who has decided to relinquish the role.
Fotheringham is a partner at the South Australian law firm Winter Hilditch & Fotheringham and recently joined the ANDRA Board after spending many years as ANDRA’s go-to legal expert.
While Waldron has handed over the role of chairman, he will remain on the ANDRA Board, providing an important perspective as an independent.
ANDRA CEO Malcolm Bulley said Fotheringham would be a knowledgeable and keen chairman.
“Michael has had a fair bit to do with the sport in the past but always very much in a background role so he knows what we are all about but at the same time is far enough away from the business of drag racing to see it for what it is,” he said.
“Having a chairman who is local to the head office is also a big advantage for us and assists greatly in the Board working closely together with the nine permanent ANDRA staff.
“We’re happy Liam has agreed to stay on with the Board and, with the mix of racing experience and business acumen that we have, look forward to continuing strategic development.”
