This February (2014), marks the 10th Anniversary of the Official Opening of Western Sydney International Dragway (WSID), now known as Sydney Dragway.
It was a monumental occasion following a hard fought battle to convince the Government that NSW needed to have a standalone quarter-mile drag racing facility.
WSID provided the link that had been missing in ANDRA Drag Racing for many years.
The Grand Opening event was the Summernationals on February 6-8, 2004. It was an extremely hot day and following the ribbon cutting and speeches, the fans witnessed the full spectrum of ANDRA Drag Racing action from Top Fuel to Junior Dragster.
In marking this occasion, Motorsports TV will Live Stream a special 2 Hour show this TONIGHT (Thursday 20 Feb, 2014) at 7PM AEDT. The show will feature the Kings of the Sport – Top Fuel and the wild boys of drag racing -Top Doorslammer.
Some of the names included Mike Dunn from the United States, Steve “Pommie” Read, Cowin, Sainty, Jim Read, Victor and Ben Bray, Robin Judd, Maurice Fabietti and lots more.
