The Fuchs Winterntationals provided plenty of excitement on the track as multiple records were broken and in some instances, set, reset and then reset again!
Most of the fireworks came in Pro Stock as the entire field was split by two tenths of a second while the previous elapsed time record of 6.982 and mile per hour record of 196.10 mph were surpassed on multiple occasions.
Tyronne Tremayne kicked it off during qualifying by going 196.53 and 196.56 mph, Nino Cavallo reached 196.64 mph and Lee Bektash 196.67 mph. Aaron Tremayne joined them during eliminations by reaching 196.56 and 196.82 mph while Bektash went fast again with 196.39 mph.
But by the end of the weekend, Tyronne Tremayne’s 196.73 mph was enough to back up the new mark of 196.85 mph.
Aaron Tremayne was the first to go under the previous ET record with a 6.975 in qualifying followed by his brother Tyronne on a 6.97 and Bektash with a 6.964. Both Tremanye’s were at it again in eliminations with Tyronne recording a 6.976 while Aaron put down a 6.970 and a 6.965.
Bektash red lit on a 6.961 but he would ultimately leave the weekend with the ET record lifting the crowd to their feet on a spectacular 6.950 pass.
Another standing ovation was in order when Gary Phillips put down a 5.424 in his semi final against John Cannuli. Phillips 5.457 in the first qualifying session would back up the record to break the previous TA/FC mark of 5.438, also owned by Phillips.
In Top Fuel Motorcycle Mark Drew excited the crowd by lifting his front wheel in the air and even though he was effectively riding a Top Fuel Unicycle at that stage, he still managed to reset both ends of the TFM/T records. Drew smashed the previous ET of 6.527 with a 6.372. The previous mile per hour record of 216.34 mph was also left in the dust by his 225.52 mph.
