This weekend will be the last time Darwin drag racers hit the strip this year with the 2015 Track Championship Season Finale featuring Saturday night at Hidden Valley Drag Strip.
Hidden Valley has seen many highlights in 2015, the most notable of which was the featuring of Top Fuel as part of Round 1 of the 2015/2016 ANDRA Drag Racing Series in July where Rapisarda Autosport secured the Territory’s first ever 4 second pass down the quarter mile.
2015 was the first time Top Fuel had made it this far north, alongside Top Alcohol and the biggest Top Doorslammer field Darwin has seen with 15 cars making the trek to the Territory.
The local Track Championship Series isn’t over with many brackets coming down to wire to decide the overall series champions on Saturday.
“We want to finish out 30th anniversary with a bang” said HVDRA President Scott MacLean.
“This year has been a milestone for the club and for Territory motorsport and we are very proud of the achievements made possible through our members, volunteers and sponsors”
To round out the night, and the season, the Cairns Industries Colosseum will also light up for the last time with some of Darwin’s best burnout cars set to compete in the last burnout competition of the year.
Gates open 1:30pm with qualifying throughout the afternoon and feature racing kicking off at 6pm. Adults are $20, kids under 13 are free. For more information go to www.hiddenvalleydrags.com.
