This Saturday, November 14th, will mark the concluding round of the 2015 Sydney Dragway Track Championship, sponsored by Atura Blacktown.  Modified racer, Graham Elliot, driver of the GE Corp / Pro Signs dragster, will also be finishing his first full season in competition in the Modified Dragster ranks. 

Despite being Elliot’s first full season in Modified competition on the Sydney scene, Graham is no stranger to motor racing or a dragster cockpit. Graham has many years of racing experience in other disciplines and is a frequent driver of the Fastrack Racing Experience two-seater dragster, offering thrill rides to avid Drag Racing fans, while also introducing new people to our sport.. 

“I’ve wanted to compete competitively in Drag Racing for some time now and due to my business commitments the timing hasn’t been the best, however, at the end of last year I commenced in a new role as the CEO of Lamattina Holdings who as a family are very involved in our sport and supportive of my racing, and now here we are. The transition has been made much easier for me with my experience in driving the Fastrack Dragster,” said Elliot.

Going into the final round of the championship, Elliot is on 460 points, a mere 50 points behind veteran racer Tim Neilsen and 10 points in front of former two-time Australian Modified Champion, Alan White, a place that the GE Corp team didn’t expect to be when they started the year out.

“When we started the season, we never thought that we would be in the position that we’re in now for the last race of the year. We’re very pleased with the way that we have performed. This year for us was a learning curve and not about trying to win a championship. I want to go into this weekend and treat it the same as the other rounds that we have contested this year. I want this to be a clean race between Tim, Alan and myself. They both (Tim and Alan) raced at the East Coast Nationals last weekend and I certainly hope that no damage was sustained for either of them as I want them to have a strong chance of running well this weekend, so any results are at the merits of us as drivers” remarked Elliot. 

Regardless of the result of this weekend, the off-season will be busy for the GE Corp / Pro Signs team. Aaron Hambridge of Advanced Performance Machining (APM) will be performing a re-build of the team’s power plant, ensuring that the team will be at the pointy end of the 2016 Modified contingent.
