The AC Delco 300 ZX of Michael "PATCH" Frossos was out at the Perth Motorplex for the openning meeting 30th October 2010 looking forward to the season ahead.

Patch went out for the first qualifier confident all that could be done pre race had been and keen to get of on the right foot. Nice burnout, into pre stage, now stage, launch the car to have it turn the tyres hard (spin the wheels) on the start line and then drift on the track to ¾ track where it got very loose (sideways) and Patch had to back of. Nice driving again Patch.

Back to the pits and asses the data from the first run. Do the between rounds enigine maintenenace and make some suspension changes, add some wing and wieght to the car to try and settle the car down a bit.

With Patch straped in it was time for the 2nd Qualifier, very sideways in the burnout, into pre stage, now stage, launch the car to have it spin the tryes hard again and drift imediatley toward the centreline, Patch brought it back to “the groove” (centre of the track) and went through for a reasonable pass.

Checking the data back in the pits make even more changes to try and settle the beast down some more. Will we get this animal down this track you bet.

Qualifier 3, Pre stage, stage, and off for about 1 second anyway untill the tyres shook and a broken Track Locator. Unfortunatley given the turn around time to the first race we would not be able to repair the Track Locator properly, so making temp repairs we went out for the first round. Given we were out for the rest of the event we told our oponent and only staged the car. By staging the car we will get 1st round points. Allowing us to make repairs and compete at the next event. That being the MORGAN v LAMATTINA TOP FUEL meeting 20th November 2010.
