Following the highly successful opening to the 2015/2016 ANDRA Championship season in Darwin and Alice Springs, the ANDRA Drag Racing Series and the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series will continue as the prestigious two tier national championship, sanctioned and supported by ANDRA.
ANDRA will continue on the path of developing and growing the sport, which must include support for all levels of competition in all states, inclusive of the new and re-developed tracks that are or will become available to members in the near future.
Both the ANDRA Drag Racing Series and Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series have enjoyed a substantial profile, success and growth over recent times. This will only increase in the future as both Series’ are already reaching an unprecedented number of tracks in regional areas with further first class venues set to join the calendar for both Series in 2016/2017.
Consistency for the current championship already underway is of paramount importance and we look forward to the successful completion of what promises to be an outstanding campaign to award national championship Christmas trees to those who have raced hard across the country.
The ANDRA Drag Racing Series and Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series will resume under the ANDRA Championship banner and the remainder of the season will receive support regarding media, including TV for both Series, and points will be allocated to all competitors.
ANDRA operates under the delegated authority of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) and ultimately the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) who have bestowed the right to control, regulate and supervise drag racing in Australia. The responsibilities at a national and international level for ANDRA remain significant.
They include increasing awareness of the sport, member services and processes, communications, member growth, technical expertise, increased venues, marketing processes, corporate engagement, risk management and innovation.
The interests of the broadest possible reach of members, competitors, venues, sponsors and fans remain important to ANDRA and we will continue striving to achieve these goals with healthy championships open to all.
An ANDRA approved calendar will be released shortly for the remainder of the 2015/2016 season.
