Divisional Information Meetings and Special General Meeting Announced.

While ANDRA is a national organisation it is formally recognised only in South Australia, where it was possible to incorporate as an association in 1989. In fact the original constitution from 1973 stated ANDRA would be a company, but that was not easy to achieve at a national level then.

Today, ANDRA is able to make that change. The existing ANDRA Constitution was amended in 2010 to permit Proxy Voting, so that Full Members do not have to travel interstate in many cases to vote at the Special General Meeting.

In the next few days ANDRA Full Members throughout Australia will receive a Member Pack, providing information on the change and the ways it may affect ANDRA Members. There is notification of the Special General Meeting and a Form of Appointment of Proxy for those unable to attend, and an Information Memorandum. The Proxy will authorise the Chairman or another Member you nominate, to vote on your behalf on the motion.

As part of this process, the ANDRA National Control Council has spent considerable time and effort in conducting a full strategic review of the organisation to ascertain our current market position, where we need to be and how we intend to get there. Some of the strategic initiatives that ANDRA will be rolling out will be in areas of building our brand, increasing emphasis on member satisfaction and engagement, developing a culture of innovation and using the latest methods to cultivate continuous improvement across all areas of our operations.

ANDRA is implementing new marketing and communication plans to ensure ANDRA captures new and untapped markets whilst at the same time, dedicating appropriate resources to ensure that our current membership base grows from strength to strength. Financial stability is a critical part of this. It will enable your organisation to grow the sport allowing us to maximise the value proposition to ANDRA Members.

One of ANDRA’s first strategic initiatives will take the form of a comprehensive online survey that will be placed on our website in March. The results from the survey will be recorded and measured against subsequent surveys in order to ensure that we are meeting our member’s expectations. Please take the time to complete those. Your thoughts and needs are important to us.

The move to a company structure is a logical and important step for ANDRA. Members are encouraged to read the material thoroughly and support the change. There may be further queries so ANDRA has set up an established email address at future@andra.com.au . Don’t hesitate to use it.

The draft Company Constitution may be viewed on the ANDRA website www.andra.com.au, under the Divisional section / ANDRA Restructure.

An Information Meeting for ANDRA Members will be held in each ANDRA Division between February 22nd and March 7th. Malcolm Bulley, who has been working through the preparations and ANDRA CEO Tony Thornton will be providing additional background and answering your questions.
