January 16 – January 24 is fast becoming ANDRA Drag Racing week with an event double header on back-to-back weekends and plenty of activity between to get fans excited.
After the dust has settled and trophies handed out for Round 7 of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series at South Coast Raceway January 16-17, we begin to celebrate the return of the Australian Nationals to Calder Park after a 15 year absence January 23-24.
The ANDRA Drag Racing promotional tour hits Melbourne Tuesday January 19 to gather with the Melbourne Old School Cruisers and Top Doorslammer’s Rob Taylor from 6pm at BP Eastlink Inbound in Scoresby.
Visitors will get a taste of Top Doorslammer up close and personal when Taylor fires up the engine while hundreds of cruisers gather to show off their cars in a rotating parade of motoring nirvana.
On Wednesday January 20, ANDRA Drag Racing invades Southbank in the Melbourne CBD with a display featuring Rob Taylor (Top Doorslammer), Daniel Camilleri (Super Stock), Hugo Digianvincenzo (Super Stock) and Rob Cassar (Top Fuel Motorcycle) at Queensbridge Square just along from the Crown Casino between 11am-7pm.
If Southbank wasn’t enough, ANDRA and Calder Park Drag Racing will host a Media Day and Lunch at Arundel Farm Estate in Keilor on Thursday January 21. Invited media guests will get a chance to interact with race teams, experience an aural overload as the engines fire up and then enjoy lunch in the picturesque surrounds of the Estate.
In attendance at the Media Day will be Jason Maggs (Top Alcohol), Rob Taylor (Top Doorslammer), Phil Parker (Top Fuel Motorcycle), Lee Bektash (Pro Stock), Corey Buttigieg (Pro Stock Motorcycle) and Jess Turner (Modified).
Finally on Friday January 22, Bunnings Taylors Lakes, 430 Melton Hwy, Taylors Lakes, will host the final outing of the week with a display from 9am-1pm featuring Ryan Van Dyk (Supercharged Outlaws), Matt Forbes (Super Gas) and Daniel Jones (Top Sportsman) before the Australian Nationals roar into life January 23-24.
