The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) wishes to advise that Calder Park Raceway and The Bend Motorsport Park have advised they will not be ready to host their scheduled rounds of the 2022/2023 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series.
This means that the Australian Nationals, which were to be held at Calder Park across February 4 and 5, won’t be able to go ahead as planned.
The ANDRA Grand Finals, which were to be hosted by The Bend Motorsport Park on March 11 and 12, will be shifted to be held as part of the Perth Motorplex’s Westernationals on March 4 and 5.
“We are obviously disappointed that our original plans to host the Australian Nationals at Calder Park and our Grand Final at The Bend Motorsport Park will not be able to go ahead,” ANDRA Chief Executive Officer, Brett Stevens, said.
“Moving the Grand Final to the already scheduled Westernationals event will serve to provide surety and minimise disruption as much as possible for competitors.
“With the Top Fuel Championship and ADRC also rescheduling their Bend activities to be held with us at the Westernationals in Perth, this event is going to be simply huge, and a more than fitting finale for our 2022/2023 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series.
“In the meantime, we look forward to heading to Perth in March for what is set to be two huge days and nights of drag racing action from the best racers at all levels of our sport, delivering a not-to-be-missed live action experience which will also be broadcast all around the country, and the world.”
