With the first meeting of the full Board and the gazzetting of the final approval of the Corporate Affairs Commission, the process of changing the Australian National Drag Racing Association Incorporated into a Company Limited by Guarantee is complete, apart from the final transfer of funds and assets.

At a Special General Meeting in Adelaide this morning, the vote to change the Australian National Drag Racing Association Inc to a company limited by guarantee was supported by over 97 percent of those voting. Members from four states were present at the meeting and hundreds of Proxy Voting Forms were processed under the scrutiny of the Returns Officer.

Divisional Information Meetings and Special General Meeting Announced.

While ANDRA is a national organisation it is formally recognised only in South Australia, where it was possible to incorporate as an association in 1989. In fact the original constitution from 1973 stated ANDRA would be a company, but that was not easy to achieve at a national level then.

ANDRA Constitutional amendments completed for next step.

Since the NCC Strategic Workshop in July 2010, progress with the change to a limited company structure has continued. The first step has been to amend the current ANDRA Constitution to permit voting by Full Members on the company change.
