They said six-second Pro Stock passes were a possibility if the conditions were right at the Fuchs Winternationals and they weren’t kidding.

Greg Leahy only needed one qualifying run to occupy top spot in Competition Eliminator going into day three and potentially smash the BB/FCA National record in the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship at the Fuchs Winternationals. 

The 47th edition of the Fuchs Winternationals kicked off at Willowbank Raceway today with qualifying in Groups Two, Three and Four in the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship.

ANDRA will be joining with Drag News Australia for an ongoing media partnership beginning with this weekend's Fuchs Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway.

It's that time of the year again when the nation's best travel to Queensland's Willowbank Raceway to compete in Australia's premier drag racing event, the Fuchs Winternationals. Throughout this week ANDRA has spent time in Toowoomba and Plainland in Queensland to take Drag Racing to promote the sport as the Fuchs Winternationals loom large at Willowbank Raceway 5-8 June.

ANDRA members Scott Cortina, Tony Gooderham and Rodney Hansen joined in the fun by displaying their vehicles at Queens Park, Toowoomba while Max Carpenter, Christine and Ricky Steffens and Kev and Peta Morton displayed their vehicles at Schulte’s Meat Tavern on the Warrego Hwy in Plainland.  The display was also complemented by Plainland Property Sales, the Lockyer Valley Classic Cruisers and Gatton Muscle Car. 

Hundreds of interested onlookers have stopped by the past three days to get a taste of ANDRA Drag Racing up close and personal while local newspapers and radio stations came along to see what all the fuss was about.

Kate Harker is following her father Steve and twin sister Diana into the Funny Car ranks this weekend at the Fuchs Winternationals.

The daughter of Aussie NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Steve Harker has entered Competition Eliminator and will debut a 2005 McKinney Funny Car fitted with a 2011 Monte Carlo body. 

The car was purchased from Dan and Frank Parker in Michigan with her partner Dan Rice.

“We have spent the past year fitting the car with Dad’s running gear (engine, clutch, transmission) and we purchased the 14-71 roots supercharger from Speed City Performance in Cleveland Ohio,” she said. 

“Our funny car is fitted with all the latest NHRA safety elements and is a quality car that could step up with us if we decide to progress into Top Alcohol."

After successfully completing their licensing requirements at the weekend’s Winters Warm-Up, West Australia’s Anthony Begley and Queensland’s Peter Zelow are ready to make their debut in the Top Fuel and Top Alcohol categories respectively at this week’s Fuchs Winternationals. 

The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) is excited to announce Snap-on Tools Australia and New Zealand as official tool supplier for ANDRA Drag Racing in 2014 and 2015.

Kenny Stewart is hoping the Fuchs Winternationals will be a successful final swan song for his current Fuchs Modified Dragster before he unleashes a new 260-inch top dragster on the Sunset Strip in Mildura this spring.
