Former Pro Stock champion Aaron Tremayne says the team has spent the off season developing the horsepower needed to fire back into form for the start of the ANDRA championship season at Adelaide International Raceway on October 20.

Tremayne finished an uncharacteristic eighth in last season’s championship chase, having won the previous four championships in a row. He was blunt in his assessment of the poor finish.

The Australian Nationals at Sydney Dragway will feature not only the best drag racing Australia has to offer but also plenty of fun off the track.

The XXXX Gold Retreat truck will be up on the mound providing one of the best views in the complex with performances from the XXXX Angels while Saturday night will feature a concert from Matt Schlam, nephew of Jimmy Barnes, who has carved out his own reputation for awesome live performances.

The October 20 season opener for the 2012/13 ANDRA Drag Racing Series will see the return of the Pro Stock championship to Adelaide for the first time in over a decade, with a group of local racers keen to show off their skills in front of the South Australian audience.

For Virginia resident Arthur Kolaroff, it will mean a tow of just minutes, compared to the days it normally takes him to reach Sydney or Brisbane to compete with his Carisma Potato-supported Pontiac.

Aeroflow Performance Products and the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) are proud to announce that Aeroflow will be the new naming rights sponsor for the ANDRA Sportsman Drag Racing Series.

Formerly known as the Rocket Allstars Racing Series, the series will now be known as the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship.

The partnership with Rocket paid out some $300,000 to racers over six seasons and Aeroflow Performance Products managing director Graeme Cowin said he was thrilled about the announcement for the new branding of the series.

The ANDRA Drag Racing Series will see a new team entering the fray in Top Fuel this season with Peter Xiberras’s Sydney-based PremiAir outfit to make its debut with Luke Shepherd doing the driving duties.

Shepherd said that the team wants to contest all the rounds if possible, with only the opening round in Adelaide currently in doubt as the team waits for some final parts for their arsenal to arrive.
