Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series

Bill Farrugia

Bill Farrugia is looking to take the performance that saw him top qualify at the last round of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series and convert that into an event victory at the upcoming South Coast 660 event.

Round seven of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series, the South Coast 660 will be held at Portland’s South Coast Raceway across January 20 and 21, 2018.

The following has been released by Calder Park Drag Racing today, the 18th of December 2017. As a few of you may have already heard, The Australian Nationals will not go ahead as initially planned on the 26th and 27th…

Summit Racing Equipment and ANDRA renew relationship

The Australian National Drag Racing Association and Summit Racing Equipment are pleased to announce a multi-year renewal of their relationship.

This renewal sees the support Summit Racing Equipment has provided ANDRA’s Sportsman racers over the past three years as the naming rights sponsor of the national Sportsman Series continue.

Competition eliminator racer Shane Baxter broke through to reset the national speed CC/AA record over the 1000ft at the weekend’s Rowe Memorial at Calder Park Raceway.

While his record-breaking speed did not translate to event winning power on the day, Baxter says there is more to come from his operation as they look towards racing at Portland (January 20-21) for round seven of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series.

Amongst the field at this Saturday’s Rowe Memorial – which includes round six of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series – will be current points leader and last year’s Rowe Memorial Super Stock winner, Tom Dimitropoulos.

The Adelaide racer was the runner-up at round three in Mildura, and while his last outing at Adelaide in October didn’t go to plan, he is hopeful he can defend his Rowe Memorial Super Stock crown this weekend (Saturday November 25) at Calder Park Dragway.

For Denso Super Street competitor Graeme Cooper, the Rowe Memorial – to be held this Saturday (November 25) at Calder Park Dragway – is a deeply important event.

“It really does mean a lot. In my first final back in 1980, Andrew Rowe was in the other lane and he beat me,” Cooper explained.

“That was in November of 1980, and he passed away in the opening months of the following year. His brother Wayne is also a good friend, so the meeting does mean a lot.
