The first round of the 2014 ANDRA Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship was scheduled to start at Fuch’s South Coast Raceway in Portland Victoria this past weekend with some 140 odd competitors making their way to the South West corner of Victoria to try and get an early advantage in 2014.

Portland, Victoria plays host to the opening round of the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship this weekend and coming into the event with an expanded family team is Modified national champion Craig Baker.

60foot will continue as the supporter of the 60foot Rising Star Award for the Junior Dragster category as part of the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship in 2014.

The Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship returns to Fuchs South Coast Raceway for two massive days of drag racing action on January 4 and 5, 2014.

Fuchs South Coast Raceway in Portland will play host to the first round of the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship on January 4 and 5, 2014 and giving the event some old school style will be New South Wales’ Allison Stewart and South Australian Mark Hunt.

Dale Duffy won the final 60foot Rising Star Award for the season at the Australian Nationals, a fitting reward to go alongside his event win.

As well as awarding national championships each season, ANDRA also recognises divisional champions who scored the highest points in their respective categories for the season.

Friday qualifying for the Australian Nationals saw many racers in the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship bettering national records as fields were set ahead of the start of Saturday eliminations.

The penultimate round of the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship has been run and done and the scene has now been set for the season-ending Australian Nationals at Sydney Dragway.

This season’s Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship has seen more rounds and more tracks than ever before, with regional locations playing a big part in the growth of the series.
