While V8 Supercars may have featured at previous ANDRA Pro Series events, this weekend the roles are reversed when the Top Doorslammers of Matt Abel and Scott MacLean are set to show the Territory public what drag racing is all about at round 6 of the V8 Supercar series at Hidden Valley.
Although the likes of Victor Bray have featured heavily in the entertainment at Hidden Valley over recent years, this will be the first time that Top Doorslammers will actually be doing a full pass at the event.
“We’re excited to be able to have a run in front of our home crowd this weekend” said ANDRA Pro Series driver, Matt Abel.
“A lot of our sponsors, fans and families are here in Darwin so we wanted to give the Top End another chance to see what Top Doorslammer drag racing is all about.”
Alongside Abel will be fellow team mate Scott MacLean in his recently overhauled 1953 Studebaker who made a mad dash back from the Winternationals in Queensland to be at Hidden Valley this weekend.
“Thanks to Victor Bray we managed to get the car back to Darwin and I can’t wait to get out on the track” said MacLean.
Pumping out a combined 7000hp the Doorslammers of Abel and MacLean will be performing exhibition passes as part of this weekend’s entertainment along with the burnout cars of Victor Bray, and the crazy stunt bikes of Matt Mingay.
