The Hof (the Corvette driving Supercharged Outlaw driver not The Hoff, 1980s Trans Am driving Knightrider star) goes into next week’s Fuchs Winternationals looking for his first ANDRA Gold Christmas Tree.

He’ll face some stiff competition, not least from his teammate and current Supercharged Outlaw champion Luke Marsden, but the fans will be out in force cheering the Club Hotel Motel Roma owner in his eye catching 63 Corvette.

“It’s an awesome shape of the Corvette and he car looks fast standing still,” he said. “The colour, logos and layout stand out.”

“We as a team try very hard to be professional in every aspect of racing on and off the track and I try to be very approachable whenever we are on display and I am always willing to let anyone have a set behind the wheel.”

It is for this reason as much as the car that Van’t Hof is popular amongst the Drag Racing faithful in the stands and on the hill.

“(I’m) looking forward to the Meet the drivers event back at Redbank Plaza (next) Thursday night. I’m always happy to try and promote the sport as much as I can both on the track and at any event that we can make it to.”

The recent X-Champs didn’t quite go to plan for Team M2 but he insists they are ready to make an impact at the Fuchs Winternationals with an eye on Group One in 2015.

“Luke has been flat out rebuilding his engine which is now complete and is very much looking forward to defending his title.

“The team will be back in force for winters and putting our very best effort to get both cars to the finals – one of my goals as the team sponsor.

“We have been making big plans to step up as a team into Group One for next year so watch this space, it will be major talk!”

The Fuchs Winternationals will be held across the Queen’s Birthday long weekend (Thursday 5 June to Sunday 8 June 2014), with 430 racers from all across the country and New Zealand to compete in front of approximately 30,000 spectators across the four days.
