10 March 2011
For the first time since the opening round of the 2010/2011 ANDRA Pro Series season opener, the 2010 Fuchs Lubricants Australian Nationals, the Jason Hedges Racing team will be ready to take to the Sydney Dragway racetrack come March 19 – 20.
Since the Nationals in September the Jason Hedges Racing (JHR) team has twice attempted to make laps, the first attempt being the rained out Willowbank New Year Series in the middle of January and a private testing session one week prior.
This last weekend the JHR team launched the DecoGlaze®, J&D Custom Cabinetry Pontiac GTO in testing for the first time in six months.
“It was great to be back at the track in a racing capacity,” said Jason Hedges,
“We have missed the racing opportunity; however, this is only because of matters out of our control. The information that we gained during last weekend’s test session showed that we have a good baseline to work with come the March 18 – 19 event. The team produced some very solid early numbers, that should see the team produce personal best elapsed times and speeds,” remarked Hedges.
This event will also be the first ANDRA Pro Series event that has been contested at the Sydney Dragway venue since the Management Changes that had taken place in the last month.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the new management team at Sydney Dragway for the changes that they have made in the last six weeks. I trust that they will be able to continue to guide the venue in the right direction. Further to this, I’d also like to thank Aeroflow and Rocket Industries for stepping up to take charge as the naming rights sponsor of the event,” said Hedges.
Three time and current Australian Pro Stock Champion Aaron Tremayne was on hand during the test session to help guide the JHR team to these solid numbers.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Aaron for making the trip down to Sydney to assist the JHR team. For Aaron to be able to do this, is never easy when he has to prepare his own car as well as his brother Tyronne’s car as well. However, at the end of the day, we run this operation as a three car team and hence the advantage,” explained Hedges.
The March 19 – 20 event will also be the debut event of the team’s new semi-trailer transporter. The team has been working on this during the long break between events.
“During the last 18 months, Pro Stock has been the stand out bracket in ANDRA Pro Series, not only due to on-track performance but due to the professionalism that has been displayed in the pits. This new transporter would not be possible without the hard work of sponsor and crew member, Jason Debono, Managing Director, J&D Custom Cabinetry,” said Hedges.
As always, the JHR team is always open for fans to enquire about the team and are always more than happy to answer any questions regarding the sport of Pro Stock Drag Racing. JHR will also be selling t-shirts out of the JHR transporter at the event for just $10! Yes, that’s right, just $10
Jason Hedges Racing (JHR) would like to thank: DecoGlaze® Glass Splashbacks, J&D Custom Cabinetry, Corfield Media Solutions and Tremaniac Racing for their continued support of the team’s racing efforts.
