Lamattina Top Fuel Racing has kicked their season off with a strong performance at their bogey track, Sydney Dragway, at the first round of the Andra Pro Series Season. The Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster was as solid as a rock all weekend; continuously stepping up to the plate to run consistent 4 second passes throughout qualifying. The top end speed of the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster was again on full display, as it surged to a 326mph pass in the final qualifier.
Lamattina moved forward into the Semi Finals where they met up against Bob Shepherd. The team were in a solid position to get through to the final but unfortunately track conditions in the top end saw the Fuchs Top Fueler spin the tyres at full speed, enabling the Shepherd team to drive past and take the win light.
Overall it was a strong performance by the team, finally starting to progress on the performance of the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster at Sydney Dragway. The team is now looking forward to the next outing in the last week of October.
The team also launched the ‘Fuchs Nitro Lounge’ on the weekend whereby sponsors enjoyed the up-close action of the LTFR pit area. Guests from Fuchs Lubricants and Useasparky.com.au enjoyed the first of its kind hospitality. “Our guests where able to experience what work is involved in ensuring a Top Fuel dragster is ready to race” explained Wayne Hoiles, Managing Director of Fuchs Lubricants. “We are very excited about this one of a kind lounge and are proud to have the naming rights to it”. After months of working on the concept through to design and build, the Lamattina Brothers in conjunction with Youngblood Ink where ecstatic to set up the lounge at its inaugural launch at FANs. “We have worked closely with the tracks to make this happen” said Phil Lamattina “We would like to thank them all for being of great assistance”. The purpose built semi-trailer is the first of its kind in Australia. “It is an investment into our sport. This helps to lift the teams profile which in turn will help to bring in and secure sponsors for our future” exclaimed Phil.
Phil Lamattina also braved the cold waters of the dunking tank for Fuchs Lubricants in their effort to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Foundation. “We raised a total of $3024 over the weekend from sales and donations which will go directly to the foundation. Fuchs has also donated $2000 towards the cause bringing the total to over $5,000″ said Wayne Hoiles, Managing Director of Fuchs Lubricants. “Unfortunately we did not have any representatives from the Foundation present as they were all admitted into hospital with the terrible disease, this brings home the seriousness of the illness to us all”. Concluded Mr. Hoiles.
Congratulations to Darren Morgan wining the final against Bob Sheppard.
We would like to thank our partners Fuchs Lubricants, Useasparky.com.au, Rocky Lamattina & Sons, Monster Energy Drinks, Youngblood Ink, Pavtek, CRC, TFI and Kenworth.
