Local Whyalla Modified Bike racer Malcolm Price has been missing in action of late but he returns to the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series presented by Whyalla City Council this weekend at Steel City Raceway.
Usually a regular at every Series round alongside fellow racer Bryan Finn, Price recently took some time away to look after his health but is fighting fit now and ready to get back in the saddle.
“My health is back to normal and yes I really missed racing,” said Price.
“Its great to have a Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series event at home as I live five minutes from the track so no interstate travel.
“This will be great for Whyalla with interstate people visiting for the first time. It will show all the hard work the club members have put in.”
Mate and travel buddy Bryan Finn is currently second place and in with a chance of taking out the Australian Modified Bike Championship. But that won’t stop Price from taking his mate down a peg or two.
“Finny has been lonesome with no one to talk to on the trip. I will be trying to beat him to make up for the club round last month when he beat me in the final.
“People will find Whyalla a very friendly club and town. The Steel City Drag Club runs a great meeting and we are all here to help make it a great meeting.”
The Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series presented by Whyalla City Council rolls into town March 12-13. The event will be the penultimate round of the 2015/2016 Season before the Grand Final at Adelaide International Raceway April 9-10.
