Australian Top Fuel team owner and driver Mark Mariani had just one wish when designing the new paint scheme for his Make-A-Wish Australia dragster - he wanted it to be one of the most visually spectacular cars that the sport had ever seen!

So when the time came to put pen to paper, he collaborated with Mariani Motorsports Program Manager Bruce Mott to imagine a design which both attracted the eye and also provided clear exposure for the team’s corporate partners.

Mark Mariani comments “After several drafts and designs, we came up with a very much expanded scheme for Make-A-Wish Australia over what was on our car last season”.

“We loved last years look, but felt that if we really wanted to make an impact on the Australian Top Fuel Landscape then we needed to go BIG!

The conceptual artwork for the design is nothing short of stunning, with design cues and details that have not been seen in drag racing for a very long time.

This includes blue front wheels as well as blue bead-lock rear wheels  and, in what is believed to be a first in Australian Drag Racing, colored rear wing struts!

“We always feel like the wing gets lost in photos when the car is on the start line, with everything else that is going on – so we decided to make it stand out!” said Mariani.

The new livery is being applied by Pro Signs at Wetherill Park in Sydney’s south west, with the reveal of the car due to take place at Meguiar’s MotorEx at Sydney Olympic Park, over the weekend of 25th and 26th July.

“We can’t wait to show off our new look at MotorEx, and hopefully make a few new fans when we fire up our Nitro guzzling dragster four times over the weekend!” concluded Mariani
