The ACDelco Nissan 300 ZX of Michael “PATCH” Frossos was out at the Perth Motorplex in fairley good conditionds to contest at the 40th annual Westernationals.

The team arrived ready for battle on Saturday knowing all that could be done had been done and this was going to be a great but tough event.

Durring the pre event warm up in the pits a problem was found and the team managed to pull together and get it fixed. We have been having a problem for most of the season and have tried a number of things to fix it, has this been the thing we had not been able to find only time will tell.

Now with everything sorted (fingers crossed) we are out for our first Qualifier, with our base line set up and gathering data each pass we ran a 7.54 @ 156 Mph and the car sounded a little better.

We kept tweaking and finished up Qualifing 4th in the PRE powered ACDelco Nissan 300 ZX with 7.352 @ 181 Mph this being under the current A/GA record.

With the top qualifier some 0.83 seconds under their index this will be a hard field to get through.

Round one found us up against BRAD CRUTTENDEN which we managed to get through running a 7.51.

Round two saw us taking on STEVEN NORMAN in another A/GA car and a 7.35 to back up the record saw us through to the Semi Final of the 40th Annual Westernational.

TONY CAROSCIO would be our opponent for the Semi Final and a very tough race it will be Patch will have to run a PB to win this one. With out lane choice we were put in the left lane that had been oiled down. On this occasion this will prove to be the biggest disadvantage and leaving us with little hope of a win. Generally this would not have been a problem but with limited time and numerous oil down, the track was poor. Patch left the start line and turned the tyres very hard and went hard left, Patch managed to bring the ACDelco Nissan 300 ZX back from the wall and run it out the back door. What a great save from a scary start line Patch earned his strips driving on the last pass.

So after Setting the Australian National Record for A/ Gas Automatic *(subject to engine capacity check) and making the Semi Final of the 40th Annual Westernationals Patch and his team were going home happy with the result.
