PRO SERIES POINTS ALLOCATED AFTER EARLY END TO ROUND

Qualifying become the most important part of the weekend for ANDRA Pro Series teams when weather brought an early close to race day at Willowbank Raceway’s first New Year Series round last Sunday.

If the event is lost after one round of qualifying has been completed, ANDRA Pro Series points are allocated for the minimum possible result from racing (which is first round lose for qualifiers), bonus points for Low Elapsed Time and Top Speed, and this year for the first time, qualifying points.

Things couldn’t be tighter at the head of the Top Fuel table. Mildura based Darren Morgan ended the weekend just two points ahead of Sydney’s Andrew Cowin, who closed up the gap from ten points. The Top Qualifier and Low Elapsed Time points put Queensland’s Steve Read into ninth spot after his first event this season. 

The next round of 2010/2011 ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel is scheduled for Perth Motorplex on January 28^th and 29^th, 2011.

Sydney drivers Aaron Hambridge and Wayne Newby remain four points apart at the top of the Top Alcohol table. Top qualifier and performance bonuses from the Willowbank round moved the current Australian Champion Gary Phillips a little closer in third place. 

The next round of 2010/2011 ANDRA Pro Series Top Alcohol is part of the 2011 Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway between April 29^th and May 1^st, 2011.
