The end of the 2009/2010 ANDRA Pro Stock season was nothing short of breathtaking with the Castrol EDGE Winternationals being the culmination of the season. This event produced the best side-by-side racing that Australian Pro Stock Drag Racing had ever seen as well as record setting performances.
With the entry list for the 2010 Australian Nationals nearing completion it’s evident that Pro Stock in Australia is as strong as ever with 20+ cars entered for the event.
“Pro Stock is going forward in leaps and bounds. The way that we ended the season at the Winters was nothing short of exceptional and in saying that I have full confidence that the 2010 Fuchs Lubricants Australian Nationals is going to be much the same,” remarked Paul Porter, PSOA President.
In order for many of the team’s to keep up to speed with everyone else in the category, they haven’t had the chance to rest during the two and a half month offseason as many fear the consequences that this may have on championship aspirations.
Once again all rounds for the ANDRA Pro Series Pro Stock calendar will be contested as 16 car fields, making it more exciting for the fans, competitors and sponsors.
“The Pro Stock product has fast become one of the most exciting Drag Racing categories over the last few seasons, not only due to the fact that we have 16 car fields, but because the average spectator can closely relate to the cars with the likes of the Holden Monaros, Pontiac GTO’s and the Ford Mustangs. We believe coupled with the fact that they are running door-to-door down the quarter mile time and time again is also of great benefit,” said Porter.
The next event for ANDRA Pro Stock event will be the 2010/2011 Season Opener, the Fuchs Lubricants Australian Nationals at Sydney Dragway – September 10 – 12.
