Super Stock’s over subscribed field will ensure dramatic battles across both qualifying and eliminations at the Westernationals this weekend.

Back on track for the first time in a while is Steve Flynn, at the wheel of Frank Salvo’s Camaro.

Flynn is one of the stalwarts of Super Stock but is yet to add a Westernationals victory to his list of achievements despite reaching three finals in seven attempts.

Salvo said a new engine package for the B/Gas-classed Camaro might help take the team to the winner’s circle.

“The new 2012 engine package was put together by Danny Selva from SRP Racing in Melbourne,” he said. “We currently own the B/G ET track record along with the national speed record.

“We have good competition this weekend with Dave Tucker hot on our heels to take away our record but I’m sure Steve is finally ready to win his first Westernationals.”

Super Stock is part of the Rocket Allstars Racing Series, Australia’s premier series for sportsman drag racers.

The Westernationals runs Saturday to Sunday.
