Spinozzi Racing has announced their retirement from Pro Stock to join the ranks of Top Doorslammer. Watch the annoucnement HERE
Spinozzi Racing brothers Emilio and Adamo Spinozzi wish to announce, effective immediately, the Speedmaster Spinozzi Racing Pro Stock Program has been retired.
The team wish to take this opportunity to thank all of their fans and supporters who have been a part of six great years in Pro Stock, along with their families, crew, sponsors and fellow competitors who have made these years great fun and very fulfilling.
“We started racing 15 years ago in Super Street and progressed through Super Sedan & Super Stock to Pro Stock six years ago. However, we’re delighted to share that the retirement from Pro Stock does not mean that drag racing fans have seen the last of Spinozzi Racing,” Emilio says with a smile.
Moving forward, the team are excited to announce that the void in the Transporter will be filled with a brand new SCF-built chassis, McCoy Racecars-bodied ’69 Chevelle Doorslammer, similar to the image shown below.
The body is currently on it’s way from Andy McCoys shop in the US. Emilio and Adamo have been busy sourcing parts and pieces, whilst Craig Burns (from SCF Racecars) has the new pipe and jig ready to go. All things going to plan, Emilio and team expect to hit the track for testing around February 2017.
Long-time Crew Chief Michael Marriott is super-excited to be entering the ultra-competitive and powerful blown class, and is looking forward to this new challenge.
Michael shares; “The team are well aware that it will be a very steep learning curve. We expect it will take a lot to become competitive in the new class. We are extremely excited to have Craig Burns and the SCF Racecar team building the car for us. Craig is a forward- thinker, and is happy to discuss all areas of the car with us, whilst at the same time drawing on his years of experience and new ideas. We are looking forward to having the engine supplied by one of the best Alcohol Engine builders in the country, Mark Brew from Pro Force. Mark has a lot of experience and we have worked together in the past. He is also our supplier of Racepak data loggers, and we will once again be working with him in regards to the Racepak data.”
Adamo said; “Our approach to Doorslammer will be no different than Pro Stock. We will look for every little thing that can make us ultra-competitive. These cars are loud, fast and exciting, so yes it’s going to be a huge learning curve. But by surrounding ourselves with the best guys, it’s going to help. With the likes of Mark Menscer from Menscer shocks, Al and Brad at ALs Race Glides, Ralph and Anthony from Smithfield Diff ’n Gear and not forgetting to mention long time crew Anthony and Rino, we will give it our best shot. These guys were all with us in Pro Stock and they’re excited about this Doorslammer adventure!”
Spinozzi Racing are incredibly grateful to all of their sponsors for past support, and are thrilled to announce that they will be coming along for the “Doorslamming” ride!
