The excitement continues on the ground as the Wide Bay Australia International Airshow unveils news that Stuart Bishop Racing will be a fantastic draw card at the 2011 event. The Stuart Bishop Race Team will have a static display over the three days and are committed to help raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Meet the crew of Stuart Bishop Racing and get up close to the Diamond Doorslammer, Group one competitors for ANDRA Pro Series Drag Racing. Boasting 3500 horsepower the Diamond Doorslammer has encased in the roof more than 540 cubic zirconia featured in a diamond configuration, and incorporated among them is a half carat, 50 point diamond, valued at about $5000.
The Murray Anderson built 1967 Chevrolet Camaro will be on display through out the Airshow boasting land speeds of up to 240mph. Stuart Bishop the Team principle and driver who is The Chief Executive Officer of renowned Australian jewellery retailer Wallace Bishop will be signing posters and answering questions..
Helping to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service – two lucky people will have the chance to sit in the drivers seat of this amazing Doorslammer whilst the team starts up their expertly crafted, U.S.A built Dave Riolo engine.
“We are honored to be part of raising funds for such a worthy cause. The winners of the raffle will experience what I feel when I am on the start line preparing to take on the competition” said Stuart Bishop, team owner Stuart Bishop Racing.
Local talent Josh Taylor will also be at the event displaying his Junior Dragster as part of the Stuart Bishop Racing Team. Taylors debut in 2008 inspired him to become involved with the race through watching his father pit crew for Stuart Bishop.
“It is great to bring the vehicles to Bundaberg and let the locals experience firsthand the power behind these vehicles” said Josh. Raffle tickets will be available at the event. One lucky person per day will be drawn to experience this mind blowing rush of adrenaline.

All funds raised will go towards the replacement of aircraft and the purchase of essential medical equipment.” said Jo Faulkner, manager of the Bundaberg RFDS Base.
