Judd holds top spot in Westernationals.
Robin Judd is leading the ANDRA Pro Series Top Doorslammer field following a 5.861 second blast from his Aeroflow team in the second session of eliminations at the Westernationals at Perth Motorplex.
Judd is one of three drivers sitting within just thousandths of a second of each other with fellow Western Australian John Zappia sitting second on a 5.876sec and ANDRA Pro Series points leader Peter Kapiris third with a 5.877sec.
Judd’s pass followed a wild first session where he almost crashed his Studebaker, crossing into the opposite lane.
Mark Belleri (NSW), Andrew Sutton (NT), Victor Bray (Qld), Ben Bray (Qld) and Gary Phillips (Qld) also made the field, ensuring five states will be represented on race day.
Meanwhile in Pro Stock Denis Whiting held on to his top qualifying position after a delayed third session. His 7.067 held off a personal best 7.075 charge from ANDRA Pro Series points leader Michael Ali.
For Whiting a new motor was proving valuable with Bill Perdikaris holding on to the bump spot in the field at 7.119.
The Rocket Allstars Racing Series also provided plenty of action and potential national records including John McSweeney running a 6.02 to top qualify in Competition.
Racing continues today.
